Built to share golf with my child.
I started Shanktuary because I love golf and wanted my child to love it too. Not the stiff, serious version, but the kind where you laugh at the shank and want to hit another one.
A launch monitor in the garage is a great tool, but the data alone doesn't make a kid want to swing. So I built two things on top of it: Performance Studio, for when you want to get better, and Arcade, for when you just want to play.
How I got here
I'm a U.S. Navy veteran, and golf wasn't always part of my life. Not long ago I was spending most of my time in my basement playing video games, and I knew I needed to get out of there.
I signed up for a free course called PGA HOPE, the PGA's program that introduces golf to veterans. It hooked me. Then I bought a simulator, and the garage became my golf course.
The next thing I wanted was for my family to play with me. That's what led to the software: tools to get better, and games to make it fun for everyone else.
The name is a joke I'm happy to own. Everybody shanks one. This is the place where that's allowed.
Shanktuary is a small, independent project and it's still growing. If you try it, I'd love to hear what you think.
